Kyoto is the capital of Japanese movies. It was the first place in Japan to screen the work of the Lumière brothers, known as “The Fathers of Cinema”. This city is the birthplace of numerous masterpieces, mainly period films, and is home to film studios set up by many film companies. We have created this Kyoto Movie Map as a part of the ART GRID KYOTO project
